About Car Anatomy
Car Anatomy is an interactive 3D encyclopedia of how a car works. Rotate the engine, peel back its layers, and read clear explanations of every major system — from the pistons and turbocharger to the brakes, suspension, cooling and electrical systems.
Why we built it
Most people drive every day without ever seeing what happens under the hood. We wanted a way to explore a car the way you would a real one on a lift — visually, part by part — paired with accurate, jargon-light writing that explains not just what each component is, but why it exists and how it can fail.
How to use it
Open the interactive 3D explorer to spin, zoom, explode and section each assembly, or browse the written guides in the parts library. Every part page covers what it does, how it works step by step, its key specifications, common failure symptoms, and maintenance tips.
Accuracy
The explanations describe typical modern passenger cars. Real vehicles vary by make, model and year — always consult your owner's manual and a qualified mechanic before carrying out repairs.
